Word clouds can help us understand the key vocabulary in any text
- Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtle
- Highlight and copy the main text of the article on turtles
- Go to http://folk.uib.no/nfylk/concordle/
- Delete the text in the box (use CTRL+A to select all, then DELETE)
- Paste in the text about the turtles
- Choose the ORDERED CLOUD view.
- Find a word that you would like to study and learn how to use. Use SPECIES as an example.
- Click on SPECIES in the word cloud, then look at the ‘concordance’ below.
- Try a few more words.
